Balkan Lakes is a travel guide. We take care to source what we publish, but lakes, rules and access change. Check local conditions, signs and official notices before you swim, go boating, fish, camp or hike. You use the information at your own risk.

Safety

Swimming, boating and hiking can be dangerous. A status such as “Swimming: allowed” means that the activity is permitted there, not that it is safe at any given time.

Texts on the site belong to Balkan Lakes unless stated otherwise. Photos are credited with their authors and licences. Map data © OpenStreetMap contributors (ODbL). Data from other sources is used under their terms and listed under Sources on each page.
