Program K1 (Plitvice Lakes)

16.5 kilometresdistance
7 hwalking time
Looproute

The longest of the park's walking tours covers most of the lake zone on foot. From Entrance 1 it goes down to the Great Waterfall and through the canyon of the Lower Lakes, follows the western shore of Lake Kozjak and climbs past the Prštavci waterfalls to the Upper Lakes.

On the way it reaches the Tomićevo pogledalo viewpoint above the Upper Lakes. An electric boat takes walkers across Kozjak to its eastern shore, and the route returns along the eastern rim of the Lower Lakes canyon to the entrance.

Before you go

Warning:

Safety Stay on the boardwalks and marked paths, which is a park rule. Wooden boardwalks are slippery when wet, and there are no railings along much of the water.

Access and start point

Starts and ends at Entrance 1 (Rastovača), by the D1 road, with a car park. A short electric-boat ride across Lake Kozjak is part of the route and is included in the ticket.

Season

Walkable all year; opening hours change with the season, and in winter snow and ice can close parts of the boardwalks.
