Ohrid-Prespa Transboundary Biosphere Reserve

Directions

UNESCO biosphere reserve

The biosphere reserve joins the Albanian and Macedonian sides of Lake Ohrid and Lake Prespa, two of the oldest lakes in Europe, with the mountains around them, including Galičica, on both sides of the border.

Its core areas are the national parks; around them lie towns, villages and farmland, where the aim is to live and farm in ways that keep the lakes clean.
